Joel Rueben Madden was born March 11,1979 in Waldorf, Maryland. Joel led a normal life up until the age of fifteen, when his dad walked out on him, his two brothers, his sister, and his mom on Christmas Eve night. Him and his brother had to find jobs supporting the family like, keeping the car running, and paying all the bills. While other kids worked to have money to take to the mall, Joel and his twin brother were supporting the family.
